Nonpublic School Funding
Del Sol School is a nonpublic school certified by the California Department of Education (CDE). According to the CDE a nonpublic school (NPS) is a "specialized private school that provide services to public school students with disabilities. EC Section 56034 defines an NPS as a private, nonsectarian school that enrolls individuals with exceptional needs pursuant to an individualized education program. The tuition of a student in an NPS is paid by the local school district that places the student in the NPS based on the student’s individual needs. Unlike other private schools, each NPS is certified by the CDE."
Del Sol School does not accept private payments from parents or any other form of private payment. All student's are placed at Del Sol School by their local school district based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Once parents have accepted the placement at an NPS, all of the students services are paid for by the school district.
Donations
Del Sol School is a nonprofit 501(c)3 public benefit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any one person. It is organized under non-profit public benefit law exclusively for public purposes. This organization is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)3 internal revenue code. As a nonprofit, Del Sol School can accept monetary and nonmonetary donations. At this time, Del Sol School accepts new and used nonmonetary donations; such as, school supplies, games, toy, art supplies, physical education supplies, and some clothing. Please contact the office if you have any questions about what you can donate. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please contact the office.
All donations to Del Sol School support our mission of providing educational services to students with exceptional needs. By making a donation to Del Sol School, a nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization, the donor understands that the donation is non-refundable. The donation will be used in compliance with IRS regulations for the support of Del Sol School's programs and services. Del Sol School will provide you with a receipt with our tax ID#, upon request.
